Most of us experience stressful, overwhelming or traumatic events during our lives.
Whilst we naturally recover from many of these experiences, sometimes our bodies and nervous systems continue to respond as though we're still under pressure. We may know, logically, that we're safe, yet still find ourselves unable to fully relax, constantly on edge or struggling to switch off.
When this happens, we can feel stuck in negative patterns, emotionally overwhelmed or unable to move forward in the way we'd like.
Modern psychology and neuroscience increasingly recognise that emotional wellbeing isn't just about what's happening in our minds. The body plays an important role too, which is why somatic (body-based) approaches have become such a valuable complement to talking therapies.
Trauma and Emotional Release Facial Reflexology is a deeply relaxing, body-based treatment that helps calm the nervous system and complements the Coaching and Clinical Hypnotherapy I already offer. It supports emotional wellbeing through the body – helping you find another way to move forward when you feel stuck.
I first experienced this treatment as a client and knew there was something pretty special about it. I left feeling profoundly relaxed, had vivid dreams afterwards and, quite unexpectedly, noticed a significant improvement in the asthma symptoms I'd experienced since I was 15 years old.
That experience sparked my curiosity and inspired me to train in this remarkable therapy so that I could offer it to my own clients.
The Lone Sorensen Method brings together facial reflexology, acupressure, traditional healing practices, neuroscience and our growing understanding of the nervous system into one carefully structured treatment. Every technique has been developed with the intention of activating the para-sympathetic nervous system (the part of our nervous system that tells the body to be calm) and supporting the body's natural ability to restore balance.
Although the treatment itself is highly structured, precision-based and draws on years of development and clinical practice, your experience is one of complete comfort and relaxation.
Most people describe it as feeling like an incredibly soothing facial, followed by some lovely foot reflexology at the end. During the session, your breathing naturally slows, your muscles soften and your whole body begins to unwind.
Because this is a non-talking therapy, there is no pressure to revisit difficult experiences or find the right words. Most clients close their eyes, drift into a light sleep and allow themselves to be completely looked after.
Trauma and Emotional Release Facial Reflexology is a natural extension of my Life & Emotional Wellbeing Coaching and Solution-focused therapies. By combining mind-based and body-based approaches, I'm able to support clients from both directions, depending on what feels most appropriate for them.
Whether you choose Trauma and Emotional Release Facial Reflexology as a standalone treatment or alongside Coaching or Hypnotherapy, my aim is always the same – to help you feel calmer, more balanced and better able to move forward.

After one session, you'll feel deeply relaxed and calm, making it a wonderful way to prioritise your own wellbeing.
If you're looking to address longer-standing patterns of stress or nervous system dysregulation, I generally recommend a course of six treatments to allow the benefits to build over time.
